An eared cast iron shoe for the foot of a traditional LCC waste pipe discharging over a gully.

The LCC eared shoe terminates the foot of a cast iron pipe above ground, turning the flow away from the wall so it discharges cleanly over a gully.
Cast ears fix it directly to the wall, holding the foot of the pipe firm where it is most likely to be knocked. Shoes are used on waste pipes that discharge over an open gully; a soil stack carrying WC waste connects directly to the drain through a bend instead.
A plain shoe is also available for plain pipe fixed with holdfasts or holderbats.
Sizes: 50mm (2″), 65mm (2½″), 75mm (3″), 90mm (3½″), 100mm (4″) and 150mm (6″).
Cast iron to BS 416-1:1990, supplied with a black bitumen coating as standard. Bitumen cannot be reliably overpainted; where the stack is to be painted, ask about our Traditional Express push-fit system.

Linseed oil paint is the most appropriate finish for cast iron guttering on listed and historic buildings. It is breathable, flexible, and penetrating — qualities that suit the movement characteristics of cast iron through seasonal temperature changes. Tuscan Foundry Products offers a curated range of heritage linseed oil colours. For modern applications, a high-quality exterior oil-based paint system over a metal primer is also acceptable.
Yes. The ornamental foliate pattern was widely used in Victorian construction and is appropriate for Grade II listed buildings and conservation area properties. Its decorative character is often preferable to a plain pattern on prominent or formal elevations. We recommend confirming the pattern with your conservation officer as part of any listed building consent application.

The Antique Black finish is cast iron with a blackened surface — the most historically accurate finish for cast iron ironwork and the most appropriate for the majority of heritage applications. Polished Lacquered is cast iron with a bright polished surface sealed with clear lacquer, suited to interiors and sheltered locations where polished ironwork is the specification. Polished Brass is solid polished brass throughout — the correct choice where existing building fittings are in brass or where a warm metal tone is required.
