The LCC diminishing piece reduces the diameter of a traditional cast iron soil stack in the direction of flow, joining a larger pipe above to a smaller one below.
It is used where a vent or waste section above a stack reduces, and on replacement work where an existing pipe of a different size must be met. To increase the diameter instead, use the LCC expanding piece; to take a smaller spigot into an existing socket, use a socket reducer.
Sizes: 75mm to 65mm, 90mm to 65mm and 100mm to 90mm.
Cast iron to BS 416-1:1990, supplied with a black bitumen coating as standard. Bitumen cannot be reliably overpainted; where the stack is to be painted, ask about our Traditional Express push-fit system.

A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the reverse of the grille that can be moved to open or close the ventilation apertures. This allows airflow to be regulated without removing or replacing the grille. The vent can be fully open, partially open, or fully closed depending on ventilation requirements.
Yes. The ornamental foliate pattern was widely used in Victorian construction and is appropriate for Grade II listed buildings and conservation area properties. Its decorative character is often preferable to a plain pattern on prominent or formal elevations. We recommend confirming the pattern with your conservation officer as part of any listed building consent application.

Many modern materials focus on replicating the appearance of cast iron but those materials can vary rarely offer any of the benefits. Cast iron gutters and pipes offer great strength and durability, a proven history of long life, low noise operation and fire resistance.

When describing modern materials, the term ‘cost effective’ is used rather than simply saying cheap. There is no doubt that the initial cost of many modern materials is less than cast iron but you might be surprised to know that over its lifespan, cast iron will cost around a third of plastic.
