The Tuscan Mechanical BS416 Soil range is a coupling-jointed cast iron soil and waste system, dimensionally compatible with BS 416 pipework. Plain-ended pipes and fittings are joined with bolted ductile iron couplings, so there are no caulked or sealed sockets. A stack goes together quickly, and individual fittings can be taken out later without disturbing the rest of the run. Conversion couplings join it to existing socketed LCC pipe, which makes it a practical choice for repairs and extensions to older stacks as well as new work.
An 87.5° short radius bend with a bolted access door, so the change of direction can be inspected and rodded without dismantling the run.
Available in 2 sizes, from 70mm to 100mm. Nominal weights run from 2.1 kg (70mm) to 4.1 kg (100mm).
Typical use: Changes of direction where blockages are most likely and access is needed for clearing.

At points that will need rodding, typically the foot of a stack or a change of direction on a long horizontal run. Make sure the door faces where it can be reached after the pipe is boxed in or fixed to the wall.

The Gothic foliate tracery design of the Ornamental Airbrick provides a good free-flow ventilation area relative to its face size. The open area is comparable to other standard cast iron airbrick patterns. The visual density of the pattern at a distance reads as solid ironwork, which suits formal and decorative elevations without compromising subfloor ventilation effectiveness.
Traditional Express (TX) is a cast iron push-fit soil system. Socketless pipes are joined with push-fit sockets and couplings using rubber seals, so there is no caulking on site. LCC uses caulked socket-and-spigot joints and a bitumen coating. TX is quicker to install and can be painted; LCC is the closer match to an original Victorian stack. The in-house Premier Extra coating is formulated for a life expectancy of around 10 years under normal weather conditions, provided any impact damage or surface scuffing is made good promptly. Coastal locations or higher pollution levels can shorten this, so it's worth asking your local stockist or paint manufacturer for site-specific advice.

Our cast iron airbricks are supplied in primed finish, ready for on-site painting. This allows them to be finished to match the existing ironwork or masonry colour of the building. Standard black gloss is the most common finish for conservation and heritage projects.
A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the reverse of the grille that can be moved to open or close the ventilation apertures. This allows airflow to be regulated without removing or replacing the grille. The vent can be fully open, partially open, or fully closed depending on ventilation requirements.
The Paxton H82 accepts round, square, and rectangular pipe connections. Round: 65mm, 75mm, and 100mm. Square: 75×75mm, 100×100mm, and 125×125mm. Rectangular: 100×75mm, 125×100mm, and 150×100mm.
