The Square Pipe Loose Eared Socket is a separate cast iron socket with a spigot below and an integral fixing ear. It is used to make a joint where a square pipe has been cut to length on site, restoring a proper socket and fixing point at the cut.
The socket carries the same moulded band as the running pipe, so the joint looks identical to a factory socket, and the ear allows the joint to be fixed back to the wall in line with the rest of an eared run.
Loose sockets are invaluable on repair and restoration work, where existing runs rarely divide into standard lengths, and where a damaged section is cut out and replaced.
All fittings in our square range are cast iron to BS 460:2002, made to the same moulded profile so pipes and fittings line up neatly on the elevation. Every fitting is supplied either in primer, ready for painting on site, or in factory black. For listed buildings and conservation areas we also offer hand-applied linseed oil paint in heritage colours, which stays breathable and flexible and is straightforward to maintain. Stocked items are usually dispatched within 5 to 7 working days; allow around 6 to 7 weeks where a linseed oil finish is specified.

All of our cast iron radiators are availbale as standard with a 1/2″ BSP (15mm) connection. We are though also able to supply many of our radiators and valves with 3/4″ BSP connections. Due to the size proportions of some radiators and valves 3/4″ connections may be more suitable.

Yes. All our mild steel brackets are supplied in either silver or black zinc plate. This coating protects the metal however, both will need painting prior to installation.
We have chosen to use zinc plating for two reasons; firstly that it is a more environmentally friendly than galvanising and secondly that it does not block up the threaded part of the rise and fall cups in the way that galvanising does.
Yes. Cast iron ornamental vents in period patterns are frequently specified on listed buildings and conservation area properties as like-for-like replacements for original Victorian ironwork. Conservation officers generally accept cast iron in period patterns without objection. We can supply specifications to support planning and listed building consent applications.
LCC is traditional cast iron socket-and-spigot soil pipe made to BS 416-1:1990. Each length has a socket at one end and a spigot at the other, and joints are packed with caulking cord and finished with a jointing sealant. Yes. The Louvre Airbrick is dimensioned to standard brick course openings and is suitable for direct replacement of worn, broken, or missing original cast iron louvre grilles. If you are unsure of the size required, measure the opening in the brickwork rather than the existing damaged grille.
