The Square Pipe Anti Splash Shoe Eared terminates a square downpipe with an extended, shaped outlet that slows and directs the discharge, reducing the splashback that saturates and stains the base of a wall. The integral ear fixes the shoe to the masonry.
Compared with a standard shoe, the anti-splash outlet projects further and turns the flow more gently, so water lands cleanly in the gully or channel rather than spraying back onto brickwork, render or stone.
Anti-splash shoes are recommended where a downpipe discharges onto an open gully, paving or a hard surface, on soft lime-bedded masonry, and on buildings where damp at the wall base is already a concern.
All fittings in our square range are cast iron to BS 460:2002, made to the same moulded profile so pipes and fittings line up neatly on the elevation. Every fitting is supplied either in primer, ready for painting on site, or in factory black. For listed buildings and conservation areas we also offer hand-applied linseed oil paint in heritage colours, which stays breathable and flexible and is straightforward to maintain. Stocked items are usually dispatched within 5 to 7 working days; allow around 6 to 7 weeks where a linseed oil finish is specified.

Traditional Express can be painted, including in our linseed oil finish. LCC is supplied with a black bitumen coating, which cannot be reliably overpainted with conventional paints; maintain it with a compatible bituminous paint. Where a painted soil stack is required, specify Traditional Express.

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
