The Wenlock No.544 is the smallest of the moulded heads, and the most quietly classical.
A crisp moulded cornice caps the casting. Below it the body swells outward and then draws back in through an ogee curve — the double reverse profile found throughout period architecture in mouldings, gutter sections and joinery — before meeting the outlet collar. A cast side boss takes the fixing. The whole casting is compact, with the interest concentrated in that single S-curve down the lower body.
Because the ogee is the same profile used in traditional gutter sections, the Wenlock sits naturally beneath an ogee gutter run. The curve of the hopper picks up the curve of the gutter above it, and the rainwater system reads as one designed assembly rather than a collection of parts from different sources. That coherence is often what distinguishes a well-detailed conservation scheme from an adequate one.
It suits domestic period work in the main: Georgian and Victorian houses, cottages and terraces, lodges, vicarages and small institutional buildings — anywhere the elevation calls for a properly modelled hopper but the scale rules out anything large or heavily ornamented.
Cast in solid iron to BS 460:2002 and supplied in primer or black as standard, with heritage colours and traditional linseed oil finishes available on request.

Heritage colour finishes and factory-applied linseed oil paint are available on request.
