The Royston No.100 carries a cross cast in relief at the centre of its front face — the plainest possible statement of ecclesiastical purpose, and on the right building the correct one.
The body is square, tapering to the outlet beneath a moulded cornice, with substantial cast lugs to the sides. The cross sits within the flat field of the face, of a form that reads clearly from the ground and takes a picked-out finish well. Everything else about the casting is left deliberately quiet so the motif carries the elevation.
Ecclesiastical rainwater goods were routinely marked in this way, and on churches, chapels, church halls, lychgates, vicarages and cemetery buildings the device belongs to the building’s own vocabulary. It is worth confirming the form of cross against any surviving original ironwork or the building’s other metalwork before specifying — different traditions and denominations used markedly different forms, and matching matters.
Cast in solid iron to BS 460:2002, supplied in primer or black as standard, with heritage colours and traditional linseed oil finishes available on request.

The Polished Brass finish suits buildings where brass metalwork was standard — formal Victorian terrace housing, civic and institutional buildings, and high-quality estate architecture. It is appropriate on listed buildings and conservation properties where the wider ironmongery specification is in brass and a matching material is required.
Size selection depends on the distance between the mounting point and the rooflight frame, and the desired throw (opening distance). Our telescopic openers are available in 150mm, 250mm, and 300mm; the screw-jack stay is available in 300mm with a 250mm throw. We do offer a range of Ogee patterned gutters in both straight and radius profiles. The straight profiles are much more common and as such cost less.
The louvre face provides directional airflow and offers some resistance to driven rain entering the subfloor void, making it a practical choice for exposed elevations or properties in areas with significant prevailing wind and rainfall. The square-grid (school board) pattern offers a larger open ventilation area but less weather protection.
