The Regent No.500 carries a fleur-de-lis cast in bold relief across its face — the most emphatic single motif in the range, and one of the most widely used devices in English architectural ironwork.
The body is square and tapers to the outlet beneath a moulded cornice, with cast detail at the upper corners and lugs to the sides. The fleur-de-lis occupies the centre of the front face at a scale that makes it unmistakable from the ground. Picked out in white, gold or a contrasting heritage colour against black, it becomes a genuine feature of the elevation.
The fleur-de-lis appears throughout English ecclesiastical, civic and estate architecture, in heraldry, on railings, finials and weathervanes, and in church metalwork of every period. On a building that already uses it, this pattern extends an existing vocabulary rather than introducing a new one — which is exactly the test a conservation officer will apply.
It suits parish churches and chapels, cathedral precinct buildings, civic and livery halls, schools and colleges, and estate architecture with heraldic detailing.

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
Cast iron hopper heads from Tuscan Foundry are available in Standard Black (a factory-applied primer and topcoat finish) and Heritage Colours. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, providing a vapour-permeable, historically authentic coating that is particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. The Polished Brass finish suits buildings where brass metalwork was standard — formal Victorian terrace housing, civic and institutional buildings, and high-quality estate architecture. It is appropriate on listed buildings and conservation properties where the wider ironmongery specification is in brass and a matching material is required.
