Regent Cast Iron Hopper Head No.1

£182.50 – £256.96Price range: £182.50 through £256.96 +VAT

Cast iron rainwater ornamental head H1 and cast iron hopper head H1. Castings for period, listed and traditional buildings.

(Bespoke cast iron hopper heads maufactured to order)

Clear

The Regent Cast Iron Hopper Head No.1 is one of the most recognisable forms in the traditional rainwater catalogue — a wide-shouldered, multi-faceted body that narrows dramatically to a slender outlet, with the kind of confident silhouette you see on Victorian terraces, civic buildings, and well-detailed country houses across the UK.

The H1 is cast with a flat back for wall mounting, with integral fixing holes, and offered in three pipe sizes: 65mm (2.5″), 75mm (3″), and 100mm (4″). At its largest — for 100mm pipe — the unit measures 355mm wide by 230mm deep and 240mm high, making it a substantial and visually authoritative component on larger drainage runs. The smaller 65mm and 75mm variants share the same 305mm width and 197mm depth, appropriate for secondary stacks, outbuildings, and properties where the downpipe run is lighter.

The multi-faceted tapering body is the defining characteristic of this hopper: it gives the H1 depth and shadow without relying on applied ornament. On Victorian townhouses, listed commercial properties, and Gothic-influenced ecclesiastical buildings, this form reads as period-accurate and architecturally coherent.

Manufactured to order in solid cast iron in the UK. Available in Standard Black and Heritage Colour finishes, with a linseed oil paint option for conservation and listed building projects.

Pipe connections: Round 65mm, 75mm, 100mm, 150mm.

For listed buildings and conservation projects, call 0333 987 4452 or visit tuscanfoundry.com.

Do your steel brackets have a protective coating?

Do your steel brackets have a protective coating?

Yes. All our mild steel brackets are supplied in either silver or black zinc plate. This coating protects the metal however, both will need painting prior to installation.

We have chosen to use zinc plating for two reasons; firstly that it is a more environmentally friendly than galvanising and secondly that it does not block up the threaded part of the rise and fall cups in the way that galvanising does.

Can the Iron Works Hit & Miss Vent be used externally?

Can the Iron Works Hit & Miss Vent be used externally?

The Antique Black cast iron version is suitable for external use. The Polished Lacquered version is best suited to interiors or sheltered external locations where the polished finish will be protected from weathering. The Polished Brass version is suited to interior and semi-exposed locations. For external applications on exposed elevations, the Antique Black finish is the recommended specification.

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically appropriate choice for listed buildings, and are generally preferred by conservation officers and local planning authorities over modern plastic alternatives. Tuscan Foundry cast iron hopper heads are manufactured in solid grey iron and are suitable for use on listed buildings and within conservation areas. A linseed oil finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for sensitive heritage projects.

What finishes are available on your cast iron hopper heads?

What finishes are available on your cast iron hopper heads?

Cast iron hopper heads from Tuscan Foundry are available in Standard Black (a factory-applied primer and topcoat finish) and Heritage Colours. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, providing a vapour-permeable, historically authentic coating that is particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. Full finish specifications are available from the team.

Can the louvre airbrick be used to replace an existing cast iron ventilation grille?

Can the louvre airbrick be used to replace an existing cast iron ventilation grille?

Yes. The Louvre Airbrick is dimensioned to standard brick course openings and is suitable for direct replacement of worn, broken, or missing original cast iron louvre grilles. If you are unsure of the size required, measure the opening in the brickwork rather than the existing damaged grille.
