The Bankside No.55 is a plain rectangular head with a cast side boss — a straightforward, well-proportioned casting for straightforward positions.
The form is a simple box, slightly tapered towards the outlet, with flat faces and a plain top edge. The side boss takes the wall fixing and gives the casting its one point of relief. There is no cornice or ornament.
Patterns of this kind account for a great deal of surviving historic rainwater goods, and they are what most buildings actually had. Where an original hopper has failed and the evidence shows nothing more elaborate, replacing like with like in the same material is both the correct conservation decision and the one least likely to require consent. A decorated replacement, however handsome, introduces something that was never there.
It suits period domestic work, terraces, estate and agricultural buildings, and service and rear elevations throughout.
Cast in solid iron to BS 460:2002, supplied in primer or black as standard, with heritage colours and traditional linseed oil finishes available on request.
Pipe connections: 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round; 75×75mm, 100×100mm and 125×125mm square; 100×75mm, 125×100mm and 150×125mm rectangular.
Suitable for listed buildings and conservation areas. Like-for-like replacement in the same material does not usually require Listed Building Consent, though we recommend confirming with your conservation officer. Call 0333 987 4452.

The H460 is well suited to Georgian, Regency, and Victorian buildings where a plain, undecorated rectangular hopper is the appropriate choice — particularly listed properties, conservation area buildings, and institutional or commercial buildings in historic town centres. Its clean, restrained form makes it equally appropriate on modern heritage-style construction where period accuracy is required without ornamental detail.

Yes — we strongly recommend painting all products before installation to ensure full coverage on every surface, which reduces long-term maintenance. Standard Premier Rainwater products are supplied in a grey metal primer with rust inhibitors and need two undercoats and one top coat (or one undercoat and two top coats) of a good quality exterior paint.
The physical properties of cast iron are sustained throughout its working life, so with proper maintenance we'd expect our gutters and pipes to last over 100 years under normal conditions.
Yes. The Brass Rooflight Pole Winder Opener 300mm is compatible with Lumen Rooflights and most timber-framed skylights. If you have a specific rooflight model, call 0333 987 4452 to confirm compatibility before ordering.
