The Calnethorpe is one of the most architecturally substantial hopper heads in the Tuscan Foundry range — a large-format cast iron rainwater hopper designed for Georgian, Regency, and formal classical elevations where scale, proportion, and material authenticity are non-negotiable.
At 445mm wide, 180mm deep, and 370mm high, the Calnethorpe commands a building elevation with the quiet confidence of a piece that was designed to be seen. Its form is intentionally restrained: a deep projecting open-top cornice with a rolled rim draws the eye, flat panel sides carry the weight of the body without ornament, and a stepped, corbel-shouldered base steps cleanly inward to the outlet below. Wall-mounting lugs are cast integrally to each side. There is nothing superfluous here — just proportion, mass, and the unmistakable texture of hand-finished cast iron.
The Calnethorpe suits principal elevations on large Georgian townhouses, country houses, manor houses, and formal civic or institutional buildings. It performs equally well on new heritage-style construction where the brief calls for authentic cast iron rainwater goods specified to conservation standard.
Produced in the UK in solid cast iron, the Calnethorpe is available in a range of finishes and with a broad choice of pipe connections to suit round, square, and rectangular downpipes.
Pipe connections: Round 65/75/100mm | Square 75×75 / 100×100 / 125×125mm | Rectangular 100×75 / 125×100 / 125×100 / 150×100mm

This opener is particularly well suited to period and heritage properties — Georgian and Victorian terraces, conservation area houses, traditional orangeries, and listed buildings where a brass finish is required to complement existing ironmongery. It is compatible with Lumen Rooflights and most timber-framed skylights.
Cast iron hopper heads from Tuscan Foundry are available in Standard Black (a factory-applied primer and topcoat finish) and Heritage Colours. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, providing a vapour-permeable, historically authentic coating that is particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. Full finish specifications are available from the team.
The opener is designed for use with Lumen Rooflights and compatible timber-framed skylights. The telescopic shaft and adjustable mounting bracket allow it to be fitted to a range of rooflight frames. If you have a specific rooflight model, call us on 0333 987 4452 to confirm compatibility.
The Ornamental Airbrick is most appropriate on Victorian Gothic buildings — churches, chapels, vicarages, almshouses, collegiate buildings, and high-specification estate architecture — where decorative ironwork was part of the original design. It suits listed building replacements in kind and heritage new build where period accuracy in detailing is expected.
We do offer a range of Ogee patterned gutters in both straight and radius profiles. The straight profiles are much more common and as such cost less.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available in a standard primed and black-painted finish, ready for on-site topcoats. Heritage colour finishes and factory-applied linseed oil paint are available on request. Linseed oil paint is a vapour-permeable, period-appropriate finish particularly well suited to listed buildings and conservation area properties.
The Brass Rooflight Pole Winder Opener 300mm is a screw-jack operated rooflight opener designed for manual control of timber-framed skylights and Lumen Rooflights. The 300mm fixed arm is suited to standard rooflight positions and is finished in polished brass.
Prices vary depending on size and finish. To get a quotation, please call 0333 987 4452 or use the contact form on the Tuscan Foundry website. The team can advise on the right specification for your project and provide a written quote.
The Cast Iron Louvre Airbrick (F020802AFC) is available in 225mm × 75mm, 225mm × 150mm, and 225mm × 225mm — standard brick course heights. All sizes share a consistent depth for straightforward like-for-like replacement of original cast iron louvre airbricks.
