Tuscan EN877 Soil is a socketless cast iron soil, waste and rainwater system made to BS EN 877. Plain-ended pipes and fittings are joined with stainless steel or ductile iron couplings, giving a slim, continuous line on a façade or in a service riser. Cast iron is non-combustible, quiet in use and very long-lived. That is why it remains the specification of choice for heritage buildings, tall stacks, and anywhere acoustic performance or fire safety matters.

Tuscan EN877 Soil P Trap with Access

A cast iron P trap with a bolted access door. It holds a water seal against foul air, and the door lets the trap be cleared without dismantling it.

Typical use: Trapped connections such as floor outlets, rainwater discharging to a combined drain and appliance connections.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes is the Tuscan EN877 Soil P Trap with Access available in?

It is available in 50mm (HS2050), 70mm (HS3050), 100mm (HS4050), 150mm (HS6050).

Why does a P trap need an access door?

Traps collect debris. The door lets you clear the trap in place rather than breaking the joints.

Can a P trap be used on a rainwater pipe?

What building types is the Calnethorpe Cast Iron Hopper No.11 suited to?

The Calnethorpe is designed for formal classical and Georgian elevations where scale and material authenticity matter — large townhouses, country houses, manor houses, and institutional buildings. It is also widely specified for new-build heritage projects where cast iron rainwater goods are required to conservation standard.

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.

What finishes are available on your cast iron hopper heads?

Cast iron hopper heads from Tuscan Foundry are available in Standard Black (a factory-applied primer and topcoat finish) and Heritage Colours. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, providing a vapour-permeable, historically authentic coating that is particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. Full finish specifications are available from the team.

What building types is the Regent Cast Iron Hopper Head No.1 (H1) suited to?

The Regent H1 is well suited to Victorian and Edwardian terraces, listed commercial buildings, civic and institutional properties, and ecclesiastical buildings where a traditional funnel-form hopper is architecturally appropriate. Its multi-faceted tapering body reads as period-accurate on Gothic and classical building types alike, and it is a commonly specified choice for conservation and listed building projects across the UK.
