Tuscan EN877 Soil is a socketless cast iron soil, waste and rainwater system made to BS EN 877. Plain-ended pipes and fittings are joined with stainless steel or ductile iron couplings, giving a slim, continuous line on a façade or in a service riser. Cast iron is non-combustible, quiet in use and very long-lived. That is why it remains the specification of choice for heritage buildings, tall stacks, and anywhere acoustic performance or fire safety matters.
A plain-ended cast iron pipe supplied in 3 metre lengths. It is cut to length on site and joined to fittings with couplings, so there are no sockets to accommodate and runs can be altered later by releasing a coupling.
Available in 7 sizes, from 50mm to 300mm. Nominal weights run from 15.7 kg (50mm) to 129.7 kg (300mm).
Typical use: Straight runs of above-ground soil, waste, vent and rainwater systems, cut to suit between fittings.

Cut it square with a proprietary cast iron pipe cutter or an abrasive disc, then remove any burr. A square, clean end is what lets the coupling seal properly. Touch up the cut end with paint before fitting.
Support every length with at least one bracket, normally close to the coupling, with additional brackets on longer horizontal runs. Vertical stacks also need stack supports at intervals so the weight is not carried by the lowest fitting.

Yes. All our mild steel brackets are supplied in either silver or black zinc plate. This coating protects the metal however, both will need painting prior to installation.
We have chosen to use zinc plating for two reasons; firstly that it is a more environmentally friendly than galvanising and secondly that it does not block up the threaded part of the rise and fall cups in the way that galvanising does.
