Cast iron square pipe ornamental earband (Pattern J) for 75mm x 75mm and 100mm x 100mm square rainwater downpipes on period, listed and traditional buildings.
UK delivery from £30. Fittings are despatched boxed. See delivery rates.
The Square Pipe Ornamental Earband Pattern J is a decorative cast iron collar for square downpipes, with six-petal flower rosette fixing ears. It is specified on conservation and listed building projects where Pattern J matches the surviving ornamental earbands on the original installation, so the restored elevation keeps the correct decorative detail.
Ornamental earbands were a standard feature on formal Victorian and Edwardian facades, including civic buildings, churches, large commercial premises and institutional architecture, where the downpipe run was treated as part of the architectural composition. Cast to BS 460:2002 and available for 75mm x 75mm (3″ x 3″) and 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″) square pipe, in primer or black painted finish. Linseed oil and heritage colour finishes are available on request. For specification support, call 0333 987 4452.

The H526 measures 440mm wide x 240mm deep x 460mm high, making it well suited to Victorian and Edwardian townhouses.
For rooflights directly above a worktop or sink, a telescopic screw-jack hand winder is the most practical choice. Available in polished brass, satin chrome, and polished chrome, these openers allow controlled ventilation from a fixed handle position without requiring a pole. The 150mm or 250mm size is typically appropriate for standard-height kitchen rooflights.
Tuscan Foundry's cast iron hopper heads are available in Standard Black and Heritage Colour finishes. A linseed oil paint finish is also offered — a sustainable, vapour-permeable option particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. Heritage colour swatches are available from the team on request.

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
The Antique Black finish suits Victorian, Edwardian, and inter-war buildings where ventilation ironwork was painted rather than polished — estate houses, terrace housing, civic buildings, and rural properties. It is also correct for listed buildings and conservation area properties requiring like-for-like replacement of original ornamental cast iron vents.
The Calnethorpe is designed for formal classical and Georgian elevations where scale and material authenticity matter — large townhouses, country houses, manor houses, and institutional buildings. It is also widely specified for new-build heritage projects where cast iron rainwater goods are required to conservation standard.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available with 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round outlets, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm square outlets, and 100x75mm, 125x100mm and 150x125mm rectangular outlets, to match the downpipe already on site or specified for the project.
The Ornamental Airbrick (OAB) is available in three sizes: 225mm × 75mm (2.8kg), 225mm × 150mm (4.1kg), and 225mm × 225mm (5.8kg). All sizes have a uniform depth of 75mm, making them consistent to install across a subfloor ventilation course.
