The Square Pipe Anti-Splash Shoe Plain is a termination fitting for cast iron square downpipes designed to prevent water splashing back at the base of the pipe run. The extended outlet disperses the flow at reduced velocity, limiting the splash that can cause staining to wall bases and surrounding paving on heritage buildings. The plain version connects using separate wall brackets or pipe clips.
Specified on period and listed buildings where the pipe discharges onto a hard surface and splash management is required. Available in three sizes: 75×75mm (3″×3″), 100×100mm (4″×4″), and 125×125mm (5″×5″). Supplied in primed or factory black finish. Manufactured in cast iron to BS 460:2002. Yes. Cast iron airbricks are the appropriate material for listed buildings and conservation area properties where the original ventilation grilles were cast iron. They maintain the character and material authenticity required by most conservation officers and listed building consent conditions. We recommend confirming the specific pattern with your conservation officer before ordering.
All of our cast iron radiators are availbale as standard with a 1/2″ BSP (15mm) connection. We are though also able to supply many of our radiators and valves with 3/4″ BSP connections. Due to the size proportions of some radiators and valves 3/4″ connections may be more suitable.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available in a standard primed and black-painted finish, ready for on-site topcoats. Heritage colour finishes and factory-applied linseed oil paint are available on request. Linseed oil paint is a vapour-permeable, period-appropriate finish particularly well suited to listed buildings and conservation area properties.

Yes — we strongly recommend painting all products before installation to ensure full coverage on every surface, which reduces long-term maintenance. Standard Premier Rainwater products are supplied in a grey metal primer with rust inhibitors and need two undercoats and one top coat (or one undercoat and two top coats) of a good quality exterior paint.
In most cases, replacing like-for-like cast iron guttering on a listed building does not require Listed Building Consent (LBC), provided the replacement matches the existing profile, material, and finish exactly. However, any change of material away from cast iron will almost always require consent. We recommend consulting your local conservation officer before proceeding, and we can provide specification documentation to support your application if required.
