The plain anti-splash shoe is a cast iron downpipe shoe with an extended lip that turns the discharge downward, reducing splashback onto walls, plinths and paving.
A standard shoe throws water forward. Where it discharges onto a hard surface close to the wall, much of that water rebounds onto the masonry. The anti-splash pattern controls the flow at the outlet. As a plain fitting it has no cast ears, so it suits pipe runs fixed with holdfasts, screw-to-wall brackets or ornamental earbands.
Use it where downpipes discharge onto paving, steps or a hard yard, beside doorways and paths, and on solid-walled buildings where repeated splashback is wetting lime mortar and plinth stonework. An eared version is also available.
Sizes: 65mm (2½″), 75mm (3″) and 100mm (4″) diameter.
Cast in solid grey iron in the UK to BS 460, and supplied primed for site painting or factory black painted. Linseed oil paint finishes can be quoted on request.

The H460 is well suited to Georgian, Regency, and Victorian buildings where a plain, undecorated rectangular hopper is the appropriate choice — particularly listed properties, conservation area buildings, and institutional or commercial buildings in historic town centres. Its clean, restrained form makes it equally appropriate on modern heritage-style construction where period accuracy is required without ornamental detail.
Yes. Cast iron airbricks are the appropriate material for listed buildings and conservation area properties where the original ventilation grilles were cast iron. They maintain the character and material authenticity required by most conservation officers and listed building consent conditions. We recommend confirming the specific pattern with your conservation officer before ordering.
Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. Tuscan Foundry's hopper heads are manufactured in solid cast iron to BS 460 specification and are suitable for all listed building classes. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.
Match the rest of the run. Eared access pipes are nailed to the wall through cast ears, like eared downpipe lengths. Plain access pipes suit runs fixed with holderbats or earbands.
The opener is designed for use with Lumen Rooflights and compatible timber-framed skylights. The telescopic shaft and adjustable mounting bracket allow it to be fitted to a range of rooflight frames. If you have a specific rooflight model, call us on 0333 987 4452 to confirm compatibility.
Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
Yes. Cast iron is the original material for external soil stacks on most period buildings, and like-for-like replacement in cast iron is usually what conservation officers expect. Check with your local planning authority whether listed building consent is needed for the works.
Cast iron radiators cost no more to run than modern steel or aluminium radiators. Cast iron is a very efficient material at emitting heat, thus you have items like le creuset cast iron pans. Cast iron holds it’s heat extremly well, which means that the radiators stay warm for longer.
