The Rectangular Pipe Ornamental Earband Pattern C is a decorative cast iron collar fitting around a rectangular downpipe, adding a traditional ornamental detail at intervals along the run. Pattern C has a specific moulded profile — one of four ornamental earband patterns (C, D, G, H) available from Tuscan Foundry Products — and is specified where the original installation used ornamental earbands as a design feature, or where a conservation project requires their reinstatement to restore the original appearance of the building elevation.
Commonly found on Victorian and Edwardian civic buildings, churches, country houses, and institutional architecture where decorative pipe detailing was a standard part of the facade treatment. The Ornamental Airbrick is most appropriate on Victorian Gothic buildings — churches, chapels, vicarages, almshouses, collegiate buildings, and high-specification estate architecture — where decorative ironwork was part of the original design. It suits listed building replacements in kind and heritage new build where period accuracy in detailing is expected.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available with 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round outlets, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm square outlets, and 100x75mm, 125x100mm and 150x125mm rectangular outlets, to match the downpipe already on site or specified for the project.

Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. Tuscan Foundry's hopper heads are manufactured in solid cast iron to BS 460 specification and are suitable for all listed building grades. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.
