The Rectangular Pipe Ornamental Earband Pattern C is a decorative cast iron collar fitting around a rectangular downpipe, adding a traditional ornamental detail at intervals along the run. Pattern C has a specific moulded profile — one of four ornamental earband patterns (C, D, G, H) available from Tuscan Foundry Products — and is specified where the original installation used ornamental earbands as a design feature, or where a conservation project requires their reinstatement to restore the original appearance of the building elevation.
Commonly found on Victorian and Edwardian civic buildings, churches, country houses, and institutional architecture where decorative pipe detailing was a standard part of the facade treatment. Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. Tuscan Foundry's hopper heads are manufactured in solid cast iron to BS 460 specification and are suitable for use on all listed building classes. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.
