The Rectangular Pipe Build In Holderbat fixes a plain, un-eared rectangular downpipe to the wall. Its tail is built into a mortar joint and the collar holds the pipe at the socket.
Build-in holderbats are the traditional fixing on many Georgian and Victorian buildings, and are the correct like-for-like replacement where the original holderbats survive in the masonry.
They are usually set during repointing or new work. For fixing to a finished wall face, use a plain or ornamental earband.
All fittings in our rectangular range are cast iron to BS 460:2002, made to the same moulded profile so pipes and fittings line up neatly on the elevation. Every fitting is supplied either in primer, ready for painting on site, or in factory black. For listed buildings and conservation areas we also offer hand-applied linseed oil paint in heritage colours, which stays breathable and flexible and is straightforward to maintain. Stocked items are usually dispatched within 5 to 7 working days; allow around 6 to 7 weeks where a linseed oil finish is specified.

LCC is traditional cast iron socket-and-spigot soil pipe made to BS 416-1:1990. Each length has a socket at one end and a spigot at the other, and joints are packed with caulking cord and finished with a jointing sealant. It is supplied with a black bitumen coating and is the like-for-like choice for external soil stacks on Victorian and Edwardian buildings. See the Traditional LCC range.

Georgian properties typically used Half Round or ogee-style guttering, often in larger sizes to handle the roof areas of substantial period buildings. Large sand cast gutter profiles are appropriate for grander Georgian architecture, particularly country houses, institutions, and formal terraces. If the original guttering has been lost or damaged, a site survey can establish the most appropriate profile from the building

A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the back of the grille that can be opened, partially restricted, or closed entirely without removing the vent from the wall. This allows airflow to be controlled from inside the building, making it suitable for underfloor void ventilation and through-wall ventilation where adjustable airflow is needed.

We can replicate any cast iron gutter, downpipe, hopper head, or fitting from drawings, detailed photographs, or a physical sample or surviving section. Each commission is assessed individually.
