The Rectangular Pipe Loose Eared Socket is a separate cast iron socket fitting that provides an eared jointing collar at any point in a rectangular downpipe run — for example where a plain pipe needs to be joined to a plain pipe, or where a socket has been lost or damaged. The eared version incorporates integral ears so that the socket itself can be fixed to the wall, providing both a joint and a fixing point at the same position.

Linseed oil paint is a vapour-permeable, period-appropriate finish particularly well suited to listed buildings and conservation area properties.
