The Iron Works Patterned Hit & Miss Vents are available in two sizes: 225mm × 82mm (single-course, suitable for standard airbrick positions) and 225mm × 150mm (double-course format). Both sizes are available in all three finishes: Antique Black, Polished Lacquered, and Polished Brass.

Our cast iron hopper heads are available with 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round outlets, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm square outlets, and 100x75mm, 125x100mm and 150x125mm rectangular outlets, to match the downpipe already on site or specified for the project.
A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the back of the grille that can be opened, partially restricted, or closed entirely without removing the vent from the wall. This allows airflow to be controlled from inside the building, making it suitable for underfloor void ventilation and through-wall ventilation where adjustable airflow is needed.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available in a standard primed and black-painted finish, ready for on-site topcoats. Heritage colour finishes and factory-applied linseed oil paint are available on request. Linseed oil paint is a vapour-permeable, period-appropriate finish particularly well suited to listed buildings and conservation area properties.
The H540 measures 600mm wide x 340mm deep x 475mm high, making it well suited to substantial country houses, civic and ecclesiastical buildings.

We regularly supply large sand cast gutters, rectangular and square downpipes, and bespoke hopper heads for church restorations. Many churches have non-standard profiles that require copy casting. We work directly with architects, church fabric advisors, and quinquennial inspection surveyors. Historic England and many Diocesan Advisory Committees specify cast iron as the appropriate material for listed ecclesiastical buildings.
