Cast iron ornamental hopper head OL504

Cast Iron Rainwater Systems Catalogue Code:

Cast iron leader heads for period, listed and traditional buildings.

(Bespoke cast iron rainwater heads and ornamental hoppers manufactured to order)

Clear

The Stanton No.543 is a shallow, wide box with no ornament at all — specified where the available depth is limited and the hopper must simply work.

The form is a plain rectangular trough with straight sides and a flat top edge, its outlet taken from the side rather than the base. That side discharge is the pattern’s real usefulness: where a plinth, a string course or a boundary prevents the downpipe dropping straight beneath the head, taking it off sideways at the hopper keeps the run clean and avoids a stack of offsets below.

Shallowness is the other characteristic. Where an eaves overhang, a band course or a low parapet leaves only a narrow vertical zone, a deep head cannot be fitted without cutting across a moulding. The Stanton spreads its capacity horizontally and stays within the band available.

It suits service and rear elevations, industrial and agricultural buildings, and any scheme where the rainwater goods should be competent and invisible rather than decorative.

Cast in solid iron to BS 460:2002, supplied in primer or black as standard, with heritage colours and traditional linseed oil finishes available on request.

Pipe connections: 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round; 75×75mm, 100×100mm and 125×125mm square; 100×75mm, 125×100mm and 150×125mm rectangular.

Suitable for listed buildings and conservation areas. If the available depth is tight, send a section or a photograph and we will confirm the fit — call 0333 987 4452.
