Heritage Matters
Heritage Matters is a listed and historic building consultancy led by Dr David Hickie, formerly Assistant Regional Director at English Heritage (now Historic England). He is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and a member of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain, with more than 25 years inside English Heritage, local planning authorities and the Environment Agency. The practice is often brought in where a conservation or planning officer has objected to proposals, attending site meetings and working through the issues. It can survey, prepare drawings, submit applications and act as expert witness at appeal or in the High Court.
