The eared round access pipe is a short cast iron downpipe section with a bolted oval inspection door, used to clear leaves, silt and debris from a rainwater pipe without taking the run apart. The cast ears on the socket fix it to the wall with pipe nails or bobbins, so it sits in line with eared downpipe lengths either side.
The oval door is cast to the curve of the pipe and bolted closed. Bed it on a suitable sealant on assembly to keep the joint watertight. A plain (non-eared) cast iron access pipe is also available for runs fixed with holderbats or earbands.
Where to fit access pipes: at the foot of a stack above the shoe or gully, directly above offsets and bends, and below hopper heads on buildings close to trees. On listed buildings, access in the right places avoids breaking joints or cutting pipe to clear a blockage.

Traditional Express can be painted, including in our linseed oil finish. LCC is supplied with a black bitumen coating, which cannot be reliably overpainted with conventional paints; maintain it with a compatible bituminous paint. Where a painted soil stack is required, specify Traditional Express.

The H543 measures 504mm wide x 185mm deep x 200mm high, making it well suited to wide, shallow proportions that suit box-gutter outlets on period roofs, terraces and commercial premises.
We manufacture a wide variety of brackets for many different cast iron gutter and pipe profiles. More common types are the rise and fall, top fix and side fix rafter and the holderbat or pipe clip.
We can also offer traditional drive brackets, repair brackets and fascia brackets in both steel and cast iron.
It is always advisable to replace like with like because quite often the brackets form and important part of the buildings architecture. Occasionally buildings have special decorative brackets and our UK manufacturing allows us to produce small quantities of bespoke brackets when required.
The School Board Airbrick (F020801AFC) is available in three standard sizes: 225mm × 75mm, 225mm × 150mm, and 225mm × 225mm. These correspond to one-, two-, and three-brick-course heights and allow ventilation requirements to be met across a range of subfloor and wall opening sizes.
Casting of iron is an imperfect processs. It is possible with some cast iron radiators that you will get minor imperfections in the surface finish. When radiators are painted this will reduce and over the years every additional coat of paint applied will provide a smoother more equal finish.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available with 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round outlets, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm square outlets, and 100x75mm, 125x100mm and 150x125mm rectangular outlets, to match the downpipe already on site or specified for the project.
The Pultney Tapered Hopper Head is well suited to Georgian and Regency townhouses, Victorian terraces, rural farmhouses, barns, and functional estate buildings where a plain, period-correct hopper is the appropriate specification.
