Cast iron rectangular downpipes are used on Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian buildings where a rectangular — rather than round or square — cross-section pipe was the original specification. The rectangular profile has a lower visual impact on the building elevation than a square or round pipe of equivalent capacity: the narrow dimension sits close to the wall face whilst the wider dimension takes the pipe face, giving a flatter, more recessed appearance. On formal terraces, civic buildings, institutional architecture, and larger period properties, the rectangular pipe delivers the required drainage capacity with minimal disruption to the facade.
The Rectangular Pipe Eared is the standard eared cast iron rectangular downpipe section, with integral ears cast into the pipe body for direct wall fixing. The eared pipe is the most commonly specified rectangular downpipe section — the ears allow the pipe to be secured to the wall surface without a separate bracket, replicating the original fixing method on period masonry buildings.

A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the back of the grille that can be opened, partially restricted, or closed entirely without removing the vent from the wall. This allows airflow to be controlled from inside the building, making it suitable for underfloor void ventilation and through-wall ventilation where adjustable airflow is needed.
The Antique Black finish is cast iron with a blackened surface — the most historically accurate finish for cast iron ironwork and the most appropriate for the majority of heritage applications. Polished Lacquered is cast iron with a bright polished surface sealed with clear lacquer, suited to interiors and sheltered locations where polished ironwork is the specification. Polished Brass is solid polished brass throughout — the correct choice where existing building fittings are in brass or where a warm metal tone is required.
It is possible for us to supply towel warmers with an electric heating element in them. The Electrad system is a unique system available to us, that enables independent heating of towel rails and radiators via the properties electrical system.
