The Rectangular Access Pipe is a cast iron rectangular downpipe section with an integral hinged access door, allowing the inside of the pipe to be inspected and cleared without dismantling the run. Essential on any rectangular downpipe installation where blockages may occur — on buildings with trees nearby, on runs discharging from flat roofs, or on systems with debris-prone guttering above.
Specified on listed buildings and heritage conservation projects where regular maintenance access to the downpipe run is required. The access door allows a rodding tool or cleaning equipment to be inserted without the disruption and risk of removing pipe sections from a historic masonry facade. Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. Tuscan Foundry's hopper heads are manufactured in solid cast iron to BS 460 specification and are suitable for all listed building grades. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.
