The Rectangular Access Pipe is a cast iron rectangular downpipe section with an integral hinged access door, allowing the inside of the pipe to be inspected and cleared without dismantling the run. Essential on any rectangular downpipe installation where blockages may occur — on buildings with trees nearby, on runs discharging from flat roofs, or on systems with debris-prone guttering above.
Specified on listed buildings and heritage conservation projects where regular maintenance access to the downpipe run is required. The access door allows a rodding tool or cleaning equipment to be inserted without the disruption and risk of removing pipe sections from a historic masonry facade. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.
