The cast iron downpipe fixing nail provides a simple and period-appropriate method for securing cast iron downpipes to a masonry wall. The nail passes through the ear of an eared pipe section and is driven directly into a mortar joint or wall plug, holding the pipe close to the wall face. This is the traditional fixing method for eared cast iron downpipes on Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian masonry buildings.
Available in 75mm and 100mm lengths to suit the standard range of eared round and square cast iron downpipe sections. Supplied in a pack format. Casting of iron is an imperfect processs. It is possible with some cast iron radiators that you will get minor imperfections in the surface finish. When radiators are painted this will reduce and over the years every additional coat of paint applied will provide a smoother more equal finish.

We manufacture a wide variety of brackets for many different cast iron gutter and pipe profiles. More common types are the rise and fall, top fix and side fix rafter and the holderbat or pipe clip.
We can also offer traditional drive brackets, repair brackets and fascia brackets in both steel and cast iron.
It is always advisable to replace like with like because quite often the brackets form and important part of the buildings architecture. Occasionally buildings have special decorative brackets and our UK manufacturing allows us to produce small quantities of bespoke brackets when required.

A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the back of the grille that can be opened, partially restricted, or closed entirely without removing the vent from the wall. This allows airflow to be controlled from inside the building, making it suitable for underfloor void ventilation and through-wall ventilation where adjustable airflow is needed.
