Pipe nails for the fixing of cast iron downpipes (75mm and 100mm)
The cast iron downpipe fixing nail provides a simple and period-appropriate method for securing cast iron downpipes to a masonry wall. The nail passes through the ear of an eared pipe section and is driven directly into a mortar joint or wall plug, holding the pipe close to the wall face. This is the traditional fixing method for eared cast iron downpipes on Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian masonry buildings.
Available in 75mm and 100mm lengths to suit the standard range of eared round and square cast iron downpipe sections. Supplied in a pack format. Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. Tuscan Foundry's hopper heads are manufactured in solid cast iron to BS 460 specification and are suitable for use on all listed building classes. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
All of our cast iron radiators are availbale as standard with a 1/2″ BSP (15mm) connection. We are though also able to supply many of our radiators and valves with 3/4″ BSP connections. Due to the size proportions of some radiators and valves 3/4″ connections may be more suitable.
Yes. Decorative cast iron and brass ventilation grilles of this pattern were widely used in Victorian and Edwardian buildings, and like-for-like replacements are generally accepted by conservation officers for listed building works. We can provide product specifications and material details to support listed building consent applications if required.

The Antique Black finish is cast iron with a blackened surface — the most historically accurate finish for cast iron ironwork and the most appropriate for the majority of heritage applications. Polished Lacquered is cast iron with a bright polished surface sealed with clear lacquer, suited to interiors and sheltered locations where polished ironwork is the specification. Polished Brass is solid polished brass throughout — the correct choice where existing building fittings are in brass or where a warm metal tone is required.
