The Paxton Cast Iron Hopper Head No.82 — code H82 — is a large-format rectangular hopper with a pronounced decorative collar detail at both the top and base of its body. It is a substantial piece: 445mm wide, 180mm deep, and 370mm high, with a visual presence that suits the grander scale of late Victorian and Edwardian architecture.
The H82 is distinguished by its collar mouldings — a projecting decorative band applied at the upper rim and repeated at the lower body just above the outlet. These collars give the hopper a more architectural quality than plain-section types, aligning it with the detailing vocabulary of civic buildings, commercial premises, and larger country houses of the period. The flat-fronted rectangular body between the collars reads cleanly and without fussiness. The outlet is centred and accepts a wide range of pipe connection sizes and profiles.
This hopper is designed for applications where the building demands more than a utility-grade fitting. It suits Victorian warehouse conversions, period commercial buildings, large detached houses, and institutional buildings where the rainwater system is part of the architectural composition. Bespoke adaptations — including double pipe connection, rectangular outlet, and square outlet formats — are available on request.
The H82 is cast in solid cast iron and available in a range of round, square, and rectangular connection sizes. It is supplied in standard primed black finish, with linseed oil paint and heritage colour finishes available for conservation and listed building work.
Pipe Connections — Round: 65mm / 75mm / 100mm
Pipe Connections — Square: 75×75mm / 100×100mm / 125×125mm
Pipe Connections — Rectangular: 100×75mm / 125×100mm / 150×100mm

The Paxton H82 is a large-format hopper with decorative collar mouldings, making it particularly well suited to late Victorian and Edwardian buildings where the rainwater system forms part of the architectural composition. Typical applications include commercial heritage buildings, civic buildings, large detached houses, institutional premises, and warehouse conversions where a more substantial fitting is appropriate.
Yes. Cast iron airbricks are frequently specified for listed buildings and conservation area properties precisely because they replicate the material and pattern of the original Victorian and Edwardian ventilation grilles. Local conservation officers and building control typically accept like-for-like cast iron replacements without objection. We can provide product specifications and material datasheets to support applications.

The School Board Airbrick suits Victorian and Edwardian institutional, civic, and residential buildings where the square-grid airbrick pattern was standard — including school buildings, civic halls, estate housing, terrace houses, and warehouses. It is also appropriate on listed buildings and conservation area properties as a like-for-like replacement for worn square-grid cast iron vents.
