The Regent Cast Iron Hopper No.1(Corner) — code H1A — is a square-plan corner hopper designed to collect rainwater from two converging roof slopes. It is a traditional component found on Georgian, Regency, and early Victorian buildings wherever internal gutter valleys meet a downpipe outlet.
The H1A has a strongly tapering body that reduces from a wide square rim to a round downpipe outlet at its base. The projecting cornice rim sits proud of the body and carries small bracket lugs at each corner — the detail that gives the hopper its structural authority and visual weight. There is no applied surface ornament; the form is the architecture. The result is a component that reads as designed rather than functional.
Corner hoppers are required wherever two lengths of gutter running at right angles converge and need to drain through a single downpipe. The H1A suits period buildings of all scales — from small Georgian terrace houses to substantial country houses and civic buildings with hipped or valley roofs. It is equally appropriate for conservation-area new-build where traditional corner details are specified.
The H1A is cast in solid cast iron in the UK and is available in four round pipe connection sizes: 65mm, 75mm, 100mm, and 150mm. Standard finish is primed and painted black; linseed oil paint finishes are available on request and are particularly well suited to listed building and conservation work. Both socketed and spigot-end connection options are available — please confirm when ordering.
Pipe Connections (Round): 65mm / 75mm / 100mm / 150mm

Tuscan Foundry supplies screw-jack rooflight openers in polished brass, satin chrome, and polished chrome finishes. Options include telescopic hand-winder openers in 150mm, 250mm, and 300mm sizes, fixed screw-jack stays, and pole-operated handles for high-level rooflights. All are designed for timber-framed rooflights and skylights.
The Calnethorpe is designed for formal classical and Georgian elevations where scale and material authenticity matter — large townhouses, country houses, manor houses, and institutional buildings. It is also widely specified for new-build heritage projects where cast iron rainwater goods are required to conservation standard.
Our cast iron airbricks are supplied in primed finish, ready for on-site painting. This allows them to be finished to match the existing ironwork or masonry colour of the building. Standard black gloss is the most common finish for conservation and heritage projects.
It is possible for us to supply towel warmers with an electric heating element in them. The Electrad system is a unique system available to us, that enables independent heating of towel rails and radiators via the properties electrical system.
Prices are shown on each product page for both sizes and all three finishes. For project quantities, specification support, or conservation enquiries, call us on 0333 987 4452 or use the contact form on our website.
The Paxton H82 is a large-format hopper with decorative collar mouldings, making it particularly well suited to late Victorian and Edwardian buildings where the rainwater system forms part of the architectural composition. Typical applications include commercial heritage buildings, civic buildings, large detached houses, institutional premises, and warehouse conversions where a more substantial fitting is appropriate.
Yes. All our mild steel brackets are supplied in either silver or black zinc plate. This coating protects the metal however, both will need painting prior to installation.
We have chosen to use zinc plating for two reasons; firstly that it is a more environmentally friendly than galvanising and secondly that it does not block up the threaded part of the rise and fall cups in the way that galvanising does.
Satin chrome has a brushed, low-sheen finish suited to contemporary interiors, while polished chrome has a bright mirror finish. Both are available in the telescopic hand winder range at Tuscan Foundry. The choice typically depends on the existing ironmongery specification.
The Antique Black cast iron version is suitable for external use. The Polished Lacquered version is best suited to interiors or sheltered external locations where the polished finish will be protected from weathering. The Polished Brass version is suited to interior and semi-exposed locations. For external applications on exposed elevations, the Antique Black finish is the recommended specification.
