The Notts OG gutter sample section allows you to verify the profile, finish, socket dimensions, and material quality before committing to a full specification. Because the Notts OG is a regionally specific asymmetric profile, ordering a sample is particularly valuable where an existing installation needs matching — the profile cannot be confirmed from photographs alone, and a direct comparison against the surviving gutter section is the most reliable way to ensure compatibility.
The Notts OG is found predominantly on Victorian properties in Nottingham and the East Midlands, but also appeared on period buildings throughout Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and parts of the wider Midlands. If you are unsure whether your existing gutter is the Notts OG or the common OG, a sample comparison is the recommended approach before ordering a full replacement run.

The H528 measures 760mm wide x 370mm deep x 565mm high, making it well suited to the largest properties in the range — substantial country houses, civic buildings and ecclesiastical projects.
In most cases, replacing like-for-like cast iron guttering on a listed building does not require Listed Building Consent (LBC), provided the replacement matches the existing profile, material, and finish exactly. However, any change of material away from cast iron will almost always require consent. We recommend consulting your local conservation officer before proceeding, and we can provide specification documentation to support your application if required.
The Pultney Tapered Hopper Head is well suited to Georgian and Regency townhouses, Victorian terraces, rural farmhouses, barns, and functional estate buildings where a plain, period-correct hopper is the appropriate specification. It also works well on new heritage-style construction. Its unfussy, chamfered form makes it a versatile choice across a wide range of traditional building types.

BS 460 compliance is often required by conservation officers and heritage bodies when specifying rainwater systems for listed buildings and conservation area properties.
Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
BS 460:2002 is the British Standard governing cast iron rainwater goods — gutters, pipes, and fittings. It sets the dimensional tolerances, materials, and performance requirements a component must meet, so that joints seal, sections align, and the system performs as a whole rather than as isolated parts. All Tuscan Foundry Products components are manufactured to comply with BS 460:2002, which is worth citing directly in specification documents and listed building consent applications. The same manufacturing standard applies to bespoke and copy-cast work, even where the profile itself isn't from our standard range.
