Tuscan EN877 Drain is a socketless cast iron drainage system made to BS EN 877, for below-ground drainage and suspended drainage runs in basements, undercrofts and plant areas. Plain-ended pipes and fittings are joined with bolted couplings. The result is a rigid, non-combustible system that resists crushing and root ingress, and copes with the loads found under buildings and hard landscaping.
A ductile iron coupling with an EPDM sealing gasket that clamps over two plain pipe ends, or a pipe and a fitting. Two bolts draw the halves together, so the joint can be released later for alterations or access.
Available in 5 sizes, from 100mm to 300mm. Nominal weights run from 1.1 kg (100mm) to 5.9 kg (300mm).
Typical use: The standard joint between pipes and fittings throughout a run.

Yes. Release the bolts, slide the coupling clear and the joint can be remade. Check the gasket is undamaged and replace it if it has hardened or split.
Tighten the bolts evenly, alternating side to side, until the coupling halves meet or reach the torque in the installation guidance. Over-tightening one side first can pull the joint out of line.

The Antique Black cast iron version is suitable for external use. The Polished Lacquered version is best suited to interiors or sheltered external locations where the polished finish will be protected from weathering. The Polished Brass version is suited to interior and semi-exposed locations. For external applications on exposed elevations, the Antique Black finish is the recommended specification.
