Double Spigot Pipe 1.5m – 1.8m Lengths

£92.60 – £136.00Price range: £92.60 through £136.00 +VAT

The Traditional Express cast iron soil product is an industry leading push fit soil system designed for a lifetime performance. The contemporary cast iron system provides the aesthetic appearance of traditional cast iron soil systems and is suitable for Listed properties and conservation projects.

Clear

The Traditional Express TX is a push-fit cast iron soil pipe system designed for above-ground soil and waste installations on period, listed, and conservation buildings. Unlike the traditional LCC socket-and-spigot system, TX pipes have no integral socket — they are double spigot sections that push into separate rubber-sealed push-fit sockets. This eliminates the need for lead caulking or specialist jointing skills, significantly reducing installation time and labour costs whilst retaining all the visual and acoustic qualities of cast iron. The system conforms to BS 416 Part 2 (soil, waste and ventilating pipes) and BS EN 681-1 (rubber gaskets). Pre-painted black gloss finish. 100mm diameter throughout.

The TX Double Spigot Pipe in 1.5m–1.8m lengths is the standard shorter-length pipe section for the Traditional Express push-fit cast iron soil system. The double spigot pipe has no integral socket — both ends are plain spigots that push into TX push-fit sockets at each joint, sealed by the rubber gasket within the socket. Available in 1.5m and 1.8m lengths to suit runs where cutting a full 3m pipe would create excessive waste.

Available in 100mm (4″) diameter only. Pre-painted black gloss finish. BS 416 Part 2. Part code: TX4001a. For specification support, call 0333 987 4452.

What building types is the Iron Works Hit & Miss Vent in Polished Lacquered suited to?

What building types is the Iron Works Hit & Miss Vent in Polished Lacquered suited to?

The Polished Lacquered finish suits buildings where period ironwork was finished bright rather than painted — formal entrance elevations, listed properties, and settings where the grille contributes to the decorative programme of the facade. It is appropriate for conservation specifications and high-specification heritage new build.

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Yes. Cast iron is the material required by most conservation officers and listed building consents for the replacement or replication of traditional rainwater goods. Our hopper heads are produced in solid cast iron and we can assist with specification notes or material statements for planning purposes if required.

What sizes are your cast iron airbricks available in?

What sizes are your cast iron airbricks available in?

Our cast iron airbricks are available in three standard sizes: 225mm × 75mm (single course), 225mm × 150mm (double course), and 225mm × 225mm (square format). These correspond to the standard airbrick positions used in Victorian and Edwardian brickwork. Each size is available across the School Board, Louvre, and Ornamental pattern ranges.

What is the difference between the Antique Black, Polished Lacquered, and Polished Brass finishes?

What is the difference between the Antique Black, Polished Lacquered, and Polished Brass finishes?

The Antique Black finish is cast iron with a blackened surface — the most historically accurate finish for cast iron ironwork and the most appropriate for the majority of heritage applications. Polished Lacquered is cast iron with a bright polished surface sealed with clear lacquer, suited to interiors and sheltered locations where polished ironwork is the specification. Polished Brass is solid polished brass throughout — the correct choice where existing building fittings are in brass or where a warm metal tone is required.

What is a corner hopper head and when do I need one?

What is a corner hopper head and when do I need one?

A corner hopper head collects rainwater from two gutters running at right angles and channels it into a single downpipe. They are typically required at internal roof valleys, on hipped roofs, and wherever two runs of gutter converge at a corner. The Regent H1A is designed specifically for this application and is sized to suit the most common gutter profiles.

What finish are your cast iron airbricks supplied in?

What finish are your cast iron airbricks supplied in?

Our cast iron airbricks are supplied in primed finish, ready for on-site painting. This allows them to be finished to match the existing ironwork or masonry colour of the building. Standard black gloss is the most common finish for conservation and heritage projects.

Is a brass rooflight opener suitable for a listed building or conservation area?

Is a brass rooflight opener suitable for a listed building or conservation area?

Yes. Polished brass is a historically appropriate finish for period and listed buildings and is generally acceptable to conservation officers. If your project requires specific confirmation, we are happy to advise — call 0333 987 4452.

What building types is the Ornamental Airbrick suited to?

What building types is the Ornamental Airbrick suited to?

The Ornamental Airbrick is suited to Victorian villas, bay-fronted terraces, Gothic Revival institutional buildings, church halls, and civic buildings where decorative ironwork is part of the architectural language. It is also appropriate for listed buildings and conservation area properties where the airbrick is on a prominent elevation and the ventilation grille is expected to carry decorative character.

Do your steel brackets have a protective coating?

Do your steel brackets have a protective coating?

Yes. All our mild steel brackets are supplied in either silver or black zinc plate. This coating protects the metal however, both will need painting prior to installation.

We have chosen to use zinc plating for two reasons; firstly that it is a more environmentally friendly than galvanising and secondly that it does not block up the threaded part of the rise and fall cups in the way that galvanising does.

My house has a plastic guttering system. Can I use your brackets to replace my exisiting broken ones?

My house has a plastic guttering system. Can I use your brackets to replace my exisiting broken ones?

Our brackets are more commonly used on cast iron rainwater systems. Unlike plastic, cast iron is heavy and the weight keeps the gutter in position. As such our brackets do not normally have retaining clips which could lead to plastic or lightweight gutters blowing out of the bracket. The profile of your gutter should match that of our bracket but without the weight to keep it in place you may well encounter problems in bad weather.
