The Classic Architecture Company

The Classic Architecture Company is a building design practice in Wilton, Salisbury, established by Peter Borchert in 1982. Alongside new builds, extensions and Passivhaus work, it offers conservation services for historic and listed buildings, supporting listed building consent applications with historic building reports and negotiating with conservation officers. The practice states a speciality in oak-framed structures and bases its designs on research into local vernacular styles. Its own office is a restored former Methodist church and school. It lists several Salisbury Civic Society conservation awards, including for The Old Stable Yard, Manor Farm and Manor Barn, plus work on farm buildings such as a barn repaired in matching local stone laid in lime mortar under a new slate roof.
