Scott James Windows
Scott James Windows specialises in the restoration and thermal upgrading of original timber sash and casement windows. The company’s main service is retrofitting slim vacuum double glazing into existing sashes, which keeps the original frames and glazing bars and leaves the appearance of the window unaltered; the units are 7.7 mm thick and achieve a U-value of 0.7, and joints are reinforced during reglazing. Frame refurbishment laminates the most vulnerable sections with rot-resistant Accoya timber, and draught-proofing brushes are fitted as part of every reglazing job. Repainting and the repair of stuck sashes, cords and weights are also offered.
Suitable for: Grade II listed and period houses where the original windows must be retained but heat loss, noise and draughts need addressing.
Services: vacuum double glazing retrofit; sash window restoration; draught-proofing; rotten timber repair with Accoya; repainting; releasing stuck windows; toughened glazing for commercial buildings.
Location: East Anglia.
