Michael Swords Studio
Michael Swords Studio is a RIBA Chartered architectural practice and AABC-accredited conservation architect, based in London with a second base in the Lake District. It provides conservation-led design and strategic heritage advice grounded in material significance, planning policy and contemporary use. Its work spans private listed houses, civic and cultural landmarks, churches, public-sector heritage assets and discreet diplomatic commissions, across Grade I, II* and II buildings. Current commissions include assessing more than 2,000 listed assets in the Lake District National Park and the care of around twenty churches and chapels. The practice also works in Northumberland and A Coruña, and offers thermal imaging.
