Hilary Byers Heritage Conservation
Hilary Byers Heritage Conservation is an independent consultancy advising on listed buildings, conservation areas and other heritage assets across Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Projects elsewhere in northern England and the Midlands are also considered. The practice helps clients with changes of use, alterations, repairs and extensions. It explains what is likely to be acceptable and prepares formal heritage documentation for consent applications. It also gives guidance on traditional materials and repair methods, and advice to people buying historic properties. Hilary Byers previously held senior conservation posts at Hull City Council, including grant scheme management in the Old Town and conservation area appraisals, and holds a postgraduate diploma in building conservation. Clients include homeowners, developers, charities and public bodies, and the practice often works alongside architects and engineers.
