Bramah
Bramah Security Equipment Ltd is London’s oldest security company, established at 124 Piccadilly in 1784 by the engineer Joseph Bramah and now based in Fitzrovia and Romford. It still manufactures Bramah locks, whose keys can be registered so that replacements are cut only in London on the owner’s authority, and which can be mastered or keyed alike. The Rola range covers window locks, locking bolts, hinge bolts and multi-purpose locks for sash windows and doors. The firm also services old-pattern locks and safes and runs locksmith and alarm services in central London.
Suitable for: securing period doors and sash windows without modern hardware that jars with the joinery, and for servicing historic Bramah locks already in a building.
Services: high-security door locks; padlocks and cabinet locks; sash window locks and bolts; registered key systems; replacement keys; old-type lock repair; safes; locksmith services; alarms and access control.
Location: Romford, Essex and Fitzrovia, London; supplies nationally and overseas.
