Bea Engineering Design
Bea Engineering Design is a Devon-based structural engineering practice run by a Conservation Accredited Engineer (CARE). The principal spent more than seven years at Historic England, providing design input for properties in the national heritage collection cared for by the English Heritage Trust, including Audley End House, Dover Castle, Pendennis Castle and Harmondsworth Great Barn, and contributing to the assessment of Shrewsbury Flaxmill. That role also involved advising Historic England inspectors and local authority conservation officers on the structural side of listed building consent applications, and outlining repairs for buildings on the Heritage at Risk register. Earlier experience covers new-build design in timber, CLT, glulam, steel and concrete. The practice offers both design and consultancy services for historic and new buildings.
