Artisawn

Artisawn is a specialist timber sash window business with a workshop near Shepton Mallet, Somerset, working across Somerset, Bath and Bristol. It designs, makes and installs bespoke box frame sash windows for period and character properties, mainly Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses, with complete assemblies of box frames, sashes and weights made by hand to match existing proportions and detailing. New windows can be supplied with slimline or standard double glazing. Repair work ranges from sash cord replacement and draught proofing to structural overhauls and rot repairs. The firm states that it specialises in conservation-led repair of original sash windows in listed buildings and conservation areas, taking a repair-first approach that keeps original fabric where possible and uses traditional methods and compatible materials. Projects run from survey and design through workshop manufacture to installation.
