Square Pipe Socket Plain

£125.90 – £233.30Price range: £125.90 through £233.30 ex VAT (£151.08 – £279.96 inc VAT)

Plain loose cast iron socket with spigot for 75mm x 75mm and 100mm x 100mm square downpipes, primer or black painted.

Clear

UK delivery from £30. Fittings are despatched boxed. See delivery rates.

The Square Pipe Socket Plain is a separate cast iron socket with a spigot below and no fixing ears. It makes a proper socketed joint where a square downpipe has been cut to length on site.

The moulded socket band matches the running pipe, so a cut joint is indistinguishable from a standard one. Without ears, it suits plain pipe runs fixed with holderbats, plain earbands or ornamental earbands.

Plain loose sockets are used on restoration and repair work, where an existing run is shortened, extended or a damaged section is replaced.

All fittings in our square range are cast iron to BS 460:2002, made to the same moulded profile so pipes and fittings line up neatly on the elevation. Every fitting is supplied either in primer, ready for painting on site, or in factory black. For listed buildings and conservation areas we also offer hand-applied linseed oil paint in heritage colours, which stays breathable and flexible and is straightforward to maintain. Stocked items are usually dispatched within 5 to 7 working days; allow around 6 to 7 weeks where a linseed oil finish is specified.

Square pipe sizes: 75mm x 75mm (3″ x 3″) and 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″).

Suitable for listed buildings, conservation areas and heritage restoration. For specification support or a project quotation, call 0333 987 4452.

All FAQ
Do your steel brackets have a protective coating?

Do your steel brackets have a protective coating?

Yes. All our mild steel brackets are supplied in either silver or black zinc plate. This coating protects the metal however, both will need painting prior to installation.

We have chosen to use zinc plating for two reasons; firstly that it is a more environmentally friendly than galvanising and secondly that it does not block up the threaded part of the rise and fall cups in the way that galvanising does.

Is a cast iron hopper head suitable for use on a listed building?

Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.

The Iron Works Patterned Hit & Miss Vent suits Victorian and Edwardian buildings where decorative cast iron or brass ventilation grilles were part of the original specification — including terrace houses, civic buildings, churches, entrance halls, and estate properties. It is appropriate on listed buildings and conservation area properties as a like-for-like decorative vent replacement, and on new heritage-quality construction where period detailing is required.
