The Square Pipe Ornamental Earband Pattern D is a decorative cast iron collar for square downpipes, with rounded quatrefoil fixing ears. It is specified on conservation and listed building projects where Pattern D matches the surviving ornamental earbands on the original installation, so the restored elevation keeps the correct decorative detail.
Ornamental earbands were a standard feature on formal Victorian and Edwardian facades, including civic buildings, churches, large commercial premises and institutional architecture, where the downpipe run was treated as part of the architectural composition. Cast to BS 460:2002 and available for 75mm x 75mm (3″ x 3″) and 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″) square pipe, in primer or black painted finish. Our cast iron hopper heads are available with 65mm, 75mm and 100mm round outlets, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm square outlets, and 100x75mm, 125x100mm and 150x125mm rectangular outlets, to match the downpipe already on site or specified for the project.

LCC is traditional cast iron socket-and-spigot soil pipe made to BS 416-1:1990. Each length has a socket at one end and a spigot at the other, and joints are packed with caulking cord and finished with a jointing sealant. It is supplied with a black bitumen coating and is the like-for-like choice for external soil stacks on Victorian and Edwardian buildings. See the Traditional LCC range.

All of our cast iron radiators are availbale as standard with a 1/2″ BSP (15mm) connection. We are though also able to supply many of our radiators and valves with 3/4″ BSP connections. Due to the size proportions of some radiators and valves 3/4″ connections may be more suitable.
Yes. Churches and ecclesiastical buildings are one of our most common project types. We work directly with architects, church fabric advisors, and quinquennial inspection surveyors. Historic England and many Diocesan Advisory Committees specify cast iron as the appropriate material for listed ecclesiastical buildings.

Heritage colour finishes and factory-applied linseed oil paint are available on request. Linseed oil paint is a vapour-permeable, period-appropriate finish particularly well suited to listed buildings and conservation area properties.
