Yes. Our telescopic screw-jack openers and pole-operated handles are compatible with Lumen Rooflight systems. They are also suitable for use with other timber-framed rooflights and skylights fitted with appropriate catches or stays. Yes. Tuscan Foundry Products cast iron rainwater goods are manufactured to BS 460:2002, the British Standard specification for cast iron rainwater goods. BS 460 compliance is often required by conservation officers and heritage bodies when specifying rainwater systems for listed buildings and conservation area properties.
A pole winder opener has a fixed-length arm, making it suited to standard rooflight positions with a consistent throw. The satin chrome telescopic rooflight hand winder is well suited to contemporary and transitional interiors where a brushed chrome finish complements modern or minimal ironmongery. It is compatible with Lumen Rooflights and timber-framed skylights.
Our cast iron airbricks are supplied in primed finish, ready for on-site painting. This allows them to be finished to match the existing ironwork or masonry colour of the building. Standard black gloss is the most common finish for conservation and heritage projects.
Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically correct choice for listed and period buildings, and a like-for-like cast iron replacement is generally accepted without objection by conservation officers. We manufacture to BS 460 for genuine heritage character and durability.
Tuscan Foundry's cast iron hopper heads are available in Standard Black and Heritage Colour finishes. A linseed oil paint finish is also offered — a sustainable, vapour-permeable option particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. Heritage colour swatches are available from the team on request.
The Antique Black finish is cast iron with a blackened surface — the most historically accurate finish for cast iron ironwork and the most appropriate for the majority of heritage applications. Polished Lacquered is cast iron with a bright polished surface sealed with clear lacquer, suited to interiors and sheltered locations where polished ironwork is the specification. Polished Brass is solid polished brass throughout — the correct choice where existing building fittings are in brass or where a warm metal tone is required.
A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the reverse of the grille that can be moved to open or close the ventilation apertures. This allows airflow to be regulated without removing or replacing the grille. The vent can be fully open, partially open, or fully closed depending on ventilation requirements.
