The plain rain diverter kit fits into a cast iron round downpipe run to collect roof water into a water butt, while keeping a traditional cast iron appearance.
The diverter replaces a short section of pipe and takes water off to the butt, returning the flow to the downpipe once the butt is full. As a plain fitting it suits non-eared pipe runs fixed with holdfasts, screw-to-wall brackets or ornamental earbands. An eared version is also available.
It suits garden elevations, outbuildings, stable yards, walled gardens and kitchen garden buildings on heritage properties, where water harvesting is wanted without introducing plastic fittings into a cast iron system.

Yes. Traditional cast iron column radiators are the authentic choice for period interiors, and plain patterns such as the Victorian 4 column are usually preferred by conservation officers. A hit and miss vent has a sliding plate on the back of the grille that can be opened, partially restricted, or closed entirely without removing the vent from the wall. This allows airflow to be controlled from inside the building, making it suitable for underfloor void ventilation and through-wall ventilation where adjustable airflow is needed.
Yes. Cast iron is the original material for external soil stacks on most period buildings, and like-for-like replacement in cast iron is usually what conservation officers expect. Check with your local planning authority whether listed building consent is needed for the works.

Casting of iron is an imperfect processs. It is possible with some cast iron radiators that you will get minor imperfections in the surface finish. When radiators are painted this will reduce and over the years every additional coat of paint applied will provide a smoother more equal finish.
