The Institute of Historic Building Conservation

The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) is the UK’s professional body for building conservation practitioners, representing architects, surveyors, planners, engineers and other specialists working in the historic environment. IHBC sets and maintains professional standards through its accreditation and membership system, publishes guidance and the Context journal, and runs training, branch events and advocacy work across the UK. Its membership directory is a useful starting point for finding accredited conservation professionals for a specific project.
