The British Society of Master Glass Painters
The British Society of Master Glass Painters has been devoted to the art and craft of stained glass for over a century. Its membership ranges from professional glass painters, conservators and historians to enthusiasts and learners, and the society supports contemporary practice and new technologies alongside traditional and historic work. It was a principal advisor in placing stained glass on the Heritage Crafts red list of endangered crafts and campaigns for the safeguarding of the craft. Publications include The Journal of Stained Glass, a newsletter and exhibition catalogues; resources include a library, training information, a suppliers directory and members’ portfolios. The society runs a programme of events and operates a charitable trust.
