The Anglo-Catholic History Society promotes the study of the history of the Anglo-Catholic movement in the Anglican Communion, from the High Church movements of the late sixteenth century through the Oxford Movement, Ritualism and later Anglo-Catholicism in England and elsewhere. Its interests include architecture, artistic development, music, literature and biography as well as general history. Open to all, it is neither a devotional grouping nor a strictly academic society, though its lectures and publications are scholarly. It meets three times a year for lectures in the crypt of St Clement Danes in the Strand, which are printed and sent to members, and publishes pamphlets, Occasional Papers and a regular newsletter. It occasionally subsidises the publication of academic books.
