RJ Matravers Master Thatcher

RJ Matravers Master Thatcher is a Somerset firm based at Ilminster, run by Reuben Matravers and his team. It works mainly across the South West, including Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset, and also in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Kent, Derbyshire, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France. Work includes complete thatching, repairs, maintenance and aftercare, and the firm carries out work for the Duchy of Cornwall. Client accounts describe new ridges on existing thatch, cleaning and dressing older coatwork, repairing and wiring roofs, and rethatching the weather side of a cottage while leaving the sound slope for later. Reuben states he is a member of the National Society of Master Thatchers.
