Painting Restoration Studios
Painting Restoration Studios is a small group of conservators based in London and Brighton, working on wall paintings, architectural decoration, painted sculpture, easel paintings and frames. Alexandra Kosinova trained at the City and Guilds of London Art School and in mural painting conservation at ICCROM in Rome, and has been in private practice since 2002 after a decade as a sculpture conservator at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The studio also offers paint analysis, including cross-section microscopy and the uncovering of earlier decorative layers. Building projects listed include work at Kensington Palace and at the Banqueting House, Whitehall, alongside ongoing environmental monitoring. Members of the group have also worked on archaeological sites in Egypt and Sudan.
