Olde England Roofs is a thatching business run by Michael Powell, working in Oxfordshire and the neighbouring counties. It aims to match each roof to the style of the building and the local thatching tradition, on historic properties and new builds alike. The firm works in combed wheat reed, water reed and long straw. Services include complete rethatching, re-ridging, coatwork patching and repairs, chimney repairs, moss removal, repairs to roof structures and stone or brick work, replacement of cement fillets and leadwork, and inspections and condition surveys. A recent job at Priors Marston involved a new ornamental block ridge cut in alternating scallops, with matching work to the porch. Free inspections are offered.
