Morning Glass Designs

Morning Glass Designs was established in 2002 and has carried out stained glass projects throughout northern Scotland. The studio restores and repairs stained glass in homes, churches and public buildings, including broken panels and in-situ repairs. It also prepares written estimates, conservation proposals and surveys for insurance purposes or grant applications. Much of its work is in ecclesiastical buildings, where it offers initial surveys, environmental monitoring, conservation proposals and the restoration of multiple windows across a whole building. For period houses it makes traditional-style windows by hand using traditional methods, in designs from any period. Hand-gilded house names and numbers, using 23.5ct gold leaf for reverse gilding, are a speciality. Site surveys, studio analysis and technical consultancy are also available.
