Master Thatchers (Peter Brugge)

Master Thatchers is a thatching company directed by Peter Brugge, who began thatching in 1980 and has worked in most counties of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as in the United States, France, Ireland and Africa. The company covers domestic, commercial, conservation and historical thatch, including re-thatching, re-ridging and repairs, moss removal and the installation of fire barriers. It prepares thatch surveys and reports, including five-yearly inspections for insurers. It also thatches new builds for regional and national housebuilders in Lincolnshire, Humberside, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, alongside one-off new houses elsewhere, and builds thatched summerhouses, gazebos, dovecotes and canopies. Materials referred to include straw, reed and sedge, with ridges in a range of finishes. Earlier work includes three thatched show houses at the Ideal Home Exhibition in London.
